Val has been gardening for over 30 years and has 12 years of floral experience. She will show you color and composition as you arrange theseelements using your own creative style. 1:00 - 4:00 “Botanical Blueprints”
Debe Loughlin
Imagine coves and islands hiding within the shape of seaweed. A self-described island girl, Debe Loughlin, uses a photographic printing process called cyanotype to create maps of islands that come straight from imagination. These botanical “blueprints” can illustrate coves, harbors, villages and much more along the seaweed’s edge.
Join us for an afternoon of creative discovery.
5:30 - 8:30 “Seaweed Printing”
James Sylvester
The beauty found in seaweed can be brought forward with the printmaking processes. James Sylvester brings many years of printmaking experience to the InPress program. He will discuss various printmaking tools and techniques. Celebrate Seaweed Week by learning to create multi layer gelatin plate prints using dried seaweed. After this creative experience, we are sure youwill never look at seaweed the same again.

About Alice Limoges:
Born and raised on a mountain by the sea in coastal Maine, Alice Limoges was singing before she could walk. With roots grounded in the folk, jazz, and rock traditions of her childhood, Alice's journey led her through seven years in the New York City music scene before the pandemic guided her back to Maine in 2020. Her artistry is marked by her distinct voice, visceral songwriting abilities, and a spirit reminiscent of a classic troubadour.
Alice crafts poetic songs reflecting love, homecoming, and mental health, illuminated by her soulful voice. Whether solo or in collaboration, her performances draw listeners into the intimate space of her vulnerable original music. Having released five independent albums, her song "No One Underneath" stood as a semi-finalist in the 2019 International Songwriting Competition. Notably, she contributed to the Grammy Award winning album “Ageless: Songs For The Child Archetype” by Jon Samson
Alice's musical journey spans renowned venues like The Cutting Room and Rockwood Music Hall in NYC, as well as festivals and colleges across the northeast. Her expertise extends beyond the stage, guiding aspiring artists through personalized music lessons. Focused on singer-songwriters, Alice imparts technical skill fused with the art of storytelling, drawing from her industry experiences to nurture creativity. Learn relief printmaking to carve and print your own stamp and/or use a collection of pre-made stamps by artist James Sylvester in order to print unique, handmade cards for friends and family!

James Sylvester is a Maine-based printmaker whose passion for drawing, carving, and collaboration fuels his multi-disciplinary art practice. He graduated from Maine College of Art & Design with a BFA with honors in printmaking in 2018 and is a member of Peregrine Press, Maine’s oldest nonprofit printmaking cooperative, where he produces his own fine art relief print editions, explores creative monoprinting techniques, and currently serves as President. His practice often bleeds into his surrounding creative community, whether that is through participating in the Portland, Maine’s yearly steamroller printing event and print crawl, organizing the artisan market series Art in the Garden at Bissell Brothers, or running collaborative printmaking workshops across southern Maine at such locations as the Portland Museum of Art, Hinge Collaborative, and Congress Square Park. His work has been shown at Cove Streets Arts, George Marshall Store Gallery, The ICA at MECA&D, Ocean House Gallery, CURRENTS New Media Festival, 82 Parris and more.

Alice's bio:
Born and raised on a mountain by the sea in coastal Maine, Alice Limoges was singing before she could walk. With roots grounded in the folk, jazz, and rock traditions of her childhood, Alice's journey led her through seven years in the New York City music scene before the pandemic guided her back to Maine in 2020. Her artistry is marked by her distinct voice, visceral songwriting abilities, and a spirit reminiscent of a classic troubadour.
Alice crafts poetic songs reflecting love, homecoming, and mental health, illuminated by her soulful voice. Whether solo or in collaboration, her performances draw listeners into the intimate space of her vulnerable original music. Having released five independent albums, her song "No One Underneath" stood as a semi-finalist in the 2019 International Songwriting Competition. Notably, she contributed to the Grammy Award winning album “Ageless: Songs For The Child Archetype” by Jon Samson
Alice's musical journey spans renowned venues like The Cutting Room and Rockwood Music Hall in NYC, as well as festivals and colleges across the northeast. Her expertise extends beyond the stage, guiding aspiring artists through personalized music lessons. Focused on singer-songwriters, Alice imparts technical skill fused with the art of storytelling, drawing from her industry experiences to nurture creativity. Whether sharing her own music or mentoring others, Alice brings beauty and vulnerability into everything she does.

A powerful and soulful vocalist as well as guitarist; Loring is a multi-genre artist specializing in New Americana, Folk, Rock, Blues and Outlaw Country. He is a solo acoustic performer as well as part of a dynamic duo/trio "Just Honey." Loring is also co-founder of Honey Buzz Studio, which specializes in live sound and music for virtually any small to medium sized venue.

Exquisite Corpse Printmaking
Exquisite Corpse Printmaking Workshop!
Join us at Pinecone Studio for a fun and creative event where you can unleash your artistic side. In this workshop, you will use relief printmaking techniques to construct and play at large game of exquisite corpse. Each participant will learn to carve their own set of head, torso, and legs to build a complete character out of stamps. Participants will then take turns printing a segment of their character in sequence with each other on a trifolded piece of paper without being able to see what the previous person printed. What will emerge???

Jud Caswell is an award-winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has been performing in his native state of Maine and beyond for more than 25 years. In 2006 he made a splash on the national scene, winning the legendary Kerrville New Folk competition. He’s had his songs taught at Berklee, recorded by Judy Collins, and named “#4 Song of the Decade” by New York”s WFUV. His record “Live at the Seagull Shop” was the number 1 album on the Folk Alliance International radio charts in March of 2020. Zachary Mullin (Stay on Mars): “Stay on Mars” is a New England hip-hop artist from Portland, Maine, who is also the co-founder of Monday of the Minds, a community hip-hop showcase. The artist’s Instagram account (@stayonmars) features updates on his music, performances, and involvement in the Portland Porpoise swim team.
Sam Jacobsen: Hip-Hop artist and Host of Monday of the Minds. Avid songwriter and freestyler. Active member of the Hip-Hop community in the North Eastern U.S. 1/2 members of Jake’s Arena. Previously opened for R.A. The Rugged Man, Ces Cru, Ace Hood.

Since early childhood Herenya Jane Wilkey, aka Ren, has felt most at home amidst the clutter and chaos of whatever project she was working on. Her many interests took her on journeys through jewelry making, blacksmithing, pottery, pyrography, and floral design. Her love of light and color inspired the desire to explore the art of stained glass.
Loving all animals, Ren has always had a special affinity and affection for lizards and other unusual creatures. When she is not working or reading, she most enjoys traveling the world with her husband, Will, meeting the local birds and wildlife, and finding treasures and inspiration.
